I wish to pay a very personal tribute to this extraordinary woman—a pioneer of retro-futuristic design whose vision was light-years ahead of her time. Born in Milan, one of the world’s great design capitals, she drew inspiration from sci-fi films and graphic novels, infusing her work with bold imagination and visionary flair. A kindred spirit, and most certainly, a woman after my own heart.

Her designs were otherworldly—lighting was always her leading character. With sculptural forms and luminous neon, she transformed spaces into immersive scenes, as if lifted from the set of a visionary film. Each glow, each shape, shifted the atmosphere entirely—bold, iconic, and unforgettable.

After graduating from university, she left Milan and moved to America—driven by a bold dream to work under her design hero, and mine as well: Frank Lloyd Wright. Her determination was unwavering, and it’s easy to see the creative thread that connects them. Like Wright, she had a gift for envisioning the extraordinary—crafting spaces that felt cinematic, immersive, and profoundly ahead of their time.

As her career flourished, she went on to collaborate with renowned brands such as Flos—a partnership that felt effortlessly aligned. Known for their innovative and forward-thinking approach to lighting, Flos was the perfect match for her futuristic vision and boundary-pushing creativity. Together, they helped shape a new era of design.
